Good afternoon all! I’m grabbing a couple of minutes at work to reach out.
First of all, thanks again to all of my readers, new and old. And thank you for all of the comments. And I want you to know that my post, “Last Supper or Bacchanalia” had the most viewers in a short time, and the largest addition of followers, of anything I’ve written so far on Substack. So thank you for the shares as well!
Second, I’ll try to respond to comments as much as I can when I have a little time off. I’m in the midst of six ER shifts, working from noon to midnight. So please understand that I’m not ignoring anyone, just busy and trying to sleep a little in between. (ER volumes are rising everywhere, as well as severity of illness in the population we see. It’s a challenging time.)
Third, lots and lots on my mind about the Olympics chaos, theology, aging and other issues. And a few thoughts on summer vacation at the beach and the perils of Vacation Bible School.
I hope to post something new in a few days. I will continue to periodically send out links to interesting things I’ve read, both on this page and on Notes.
Finally, I love all the comments! Just please try to be civil. We needn’t agree, and if we did agree on everything what fun would that be? However we can disagree in a measured manner.
Take care!
Edwin
PS
I read this quote and wanted to share it with you.
“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupery (pioneering aviator and author of “The Little Prince” and other works.)
