I want to thank all of my subscribers. You have made Substack such a wonderful experience! I truly appreciate the time you take to read, share or recommend my writing. Some of you are long-time readers of mine from other publications or sites, and some are brand new, but I am happy to connect with everyone.
Today, for the first time since I started writing here, I have enabled a payment option. I have set it as low as possible (within the Substack rules) at $5.00 per month/$60.00 per year. I will continue to provide mostly public content as before. I will, occasionally, roll out a special bit of writing or a special experience for paid subscribers. But my goal isn’t to make this experience difficult.
For the most part, nothing will change. However, if you have pledged in the past, that will be activated. So thank you! If you have second thoughts and don’t want to do that, there’s a seven day free trial that’s in place. I won’t be offended if you change your mind.
However, if you enjoy what you read here and want to support my efforts, and the time it takes to write, then consider a subscription, even a monthly trial. If you think you want to encourage others, and you think I should offer referral rewards, let me know and I’ll activate that. I also have group discounts set up. This is new to me, so please be patient and let me know if you have any problems.
Substack is very unique as a platform and has been, and will hopefully remain, extremely dedicated to free speech. This is one of the great things about it.
If you are a writer looking for a new adventure, I recommend it and will be happy to chat with you.
Here we go!
Edwin
I understand. I live in a 23 year old manufactured home my wife and I bought new. My (just above low income level) meager disability pension has no survivor benefits, so it is prudent for me to put every single penny I save by our frugal lifestyle in savings so that my wife can avoid extreme poverty and deprivation when I pass. I agree that your articles are well wrtitten and worthy of praise. I will read the free articles. God bless you, Brother Edwin Leap.
P.S. I thank God you are not an ER physician in Lewiston, Maine.
