Good evening dear readers!
Two weeks ago my wife Jan developed terrible abdominal pain and vomiting. To make a long story short, she passed a gallstone that blocked her pancreatic duct. This resulted in acute pancreatitis.

Due to the severity of her illness she was hospitalized until yesterday for a total of 12 days. She is currently home and recuperating after a difficult, painful course. As you might expect, I haven’t had any mental space to devote to writing.
Then, thanks to the late hurricane, we came home to a house without electricity.
Fortunately the power is back on tonight and we’re getting back into a normal rhythm, however slowly.
I’ll have lots to say about her illness and the experience of her hospitalization.
But I just wanted to drop you a note to say that I haven’t forgotten you and will get something new out in a day or two if all goes well.
Thanks!
Edwin
PS Our oldest son, Sam, lives in western NC above Asheville. We can’t reach him, however cell service is out all over the area. If you’re one given to prayer it would be appreciated; for him and for all those so stricken by this terrible weather.
I have been anxiously awaiting any signal of life from your direction, you and your family have been in my heart and mind. You most definitely have our prayers!
My heart is pouring out in prayers for you and yours.
