Not so very long ago, the worst possible thing one could be called was a fascist; in particular, a Nazi. Since WWII we have known that anyone calling themselves a Nazi was at least crazy, and at most dangerous. I have known physicians to comment online, asking, ‘what would you do if your patient had a swastika tattoo?’ Right wing protestors have often been equated with Nazis. (And not entirely without reason; some extreme right folks are very nostalgic for the era of the Nazis and continue to dream of white ascendancy. Although I think far fewer than in the fever dreams of the mainstream media.)
