I was there at the reunion as a guest ("belonging" to Joy Dorsey). It was a wonderful time where, as an outsider, I felt welcomed by all. One thing stuck me as I watched the personal reunions all around me; In that moment, when long lost friends were reconnecting, there was not a care in the world. All was right in the universe!
"Thoughtfulness" was a word that came to mind reading this and experiencing this weekend. It fully contrasted the self-absorbtion I tend to see in the society I participate in today. The stigma of reunions and the the focus on self success was not present. It was a group of people celebrating each other that made the difference for me.
Thank you Edwin! You expressed exactly what I felt! Even though we didn't talk and we weren't actually even friends in high school, it was so good to see you.
