Ed, you have outdone yourself on this one. i have posted this to my Facebook page, with the following comment: "Another amazing, insightful essay from ER physician and writer extraordinaire, Dr. Edwin Leap. Read this aloud tonight at the dinner table, and if necessary prepare a family dinner at which to read it. i have just entered retirement from daily office practice, and have been thinking about this very topic. Ed's comments have definitely spurred me on to more consistent action."
Paul, thank you for that kind comment, and for reposting. And for being patient with the editorial errors I made which I just fixed. That will teach me to write tired after a busy ED shift! Well, it probably won't but it should.
You are most welcome! Now I'm curious as to what errors you found that I missed. I have to admit that I pick up more typos etc. on whatever I write when I print it out (especially in the morning) rather than reading it on the screen. I don't know why that is, but things that hide on the screen jump off the page.
Excellent article. Thank You!
Inspiring. I write a lot but seldom memories are preserved. You make a grand case for exactly that. Thank you.
Lovely. And it’s lovely that you have people to write to who care what you have to say. (Copy editor brain: cemetery :)
I saw that as well lol
Yikes! Thanks, fixing it right now. And thanks for the kind comment.
