So very true. Living in Miami I laugh at all the northerners when they sit in the sun all day and end up with severe sunburn etc. I stay inside in my nice AC cold house until the sun goes down and nature is the only thing that won’t try to kill me. Well except maybe the mosquitoes.
I grew up in South Central Virginia, working on farms in tobacco and hay fields from 1974 to 1979 as a teenager, then the summer of my junior year of high school in a furniture factory making tables in the hot glue lamination portion of an un-air-conditioned plant. Going to basic training, A.I.T., and Airborne School the summer of 1983 was a piece of cake. Now that I am in my 60's, I don't spend as much time out in the heat, but I am better off than northern transplants who haven't learned to respect our weather and our wildlife.

I resemble that remark! Sounds all vaguely familiar to me for some reason
