I often wonder how our culture has become so publicly nasty. Obviously with the internet it is easier to broadcast nastiness than it was before computers. It's easier to be nasty online when you don't see the face of the person you are trashing. But when did the nastiness become more than nastiness, but rather an overt attempt to squelch any opinion besides yours? As you narrow your tolerance for differing opinions, you open yourself up to the evils of propaganda. As you so deftly note, it's time for young people (women too) to step up and learn to be kind. That's a good start.
